Duvet

We just had an argument about this. It seems that a comforter here in America is actually a duvet (pronounced duvei).

We are having serious arguments over all kinds of words, how they are pronounced, and how things we use words here are absolutely incorrect. She keeps bringing them up and rubbing it in my face.

  1. prettywordsandpictures said: Technically, I think they’re both accurate words for different things. Comforter = heavy blanket used as-is. Duvet = heavy blanket meant to go inside a cover. At least, that’s how I’ve figured it out up here in the great white north.
